Disney’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ releases a 3-Disc Blu-ray, DisneyFile, and DVD package

While it is not on the level of the finest Burton films, this audio-visual splendor can work as a fine addition to a fan’s home video collection.

Disney released the “Alice in Wonderland” 3-Disc Blu-ray with DisneyFile and DVD on June 1, 2010. The DisneyFile is a standard definition (SD) digital version of the movie arriving on a separate disc for easy transfer of the digital movie file to the computer or any compatible portable media player.

This 3-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack also offers Bonus Features: “Finding Alice,” “The Mad Hatter,” “The Futterwacken Dance,” “The Red Queen,” “Time-Lapse: Sculpting the Red Queen,” “The White Queen,” “Scoring Wonderland,” “Effecting Wonderland,” “Stunts Of Wonderland,” “Making the Proper Size,” “Cakes of Wonderland,” and “Tea Party Props.”

This disc offering’s technical specifications include: widescreen movie presentation, aspect ratio of 1.78:1 (1080p high definition); sound in 5.1 DTS-HD 48 kHz/24-bit (English) and 5.1 Dolby Digital (French and Spanish dubbed); subtitles in French, Spanish, and English SDH; closed captions; and movie running time of 109 minutes. The film is rated PG.

This Tim Burton fantastical adventure puts a new twist to one of the most popular stories of all time. It features a teenage Alice (Mia Wasikowska) who returns to the whimsical world she first entered as a child, embarking on a journey to discover her true identity and save the other world close to her heart.

Those who want to tumble down the rabbit hole with Alice, the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), the White Queen (Anne Hathaway), the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter), the White Rabbit (Michael Sheen), and the rest of the Wonderland characters can feast their eyes on this “Burtonesque” interpretation of the tale. While it is not on the level of the finest Burton films, this audio-visual splendor in its HD version and Dolby Digital sound mix can work as a fine addition to a fan’s general home video collection. The interesting bonus features also allow viewers to take a sneak peek on how the film was made.

“Alice in Wonderland” patrons can also check out additional merchandise items available such as the “Alice in Wonderland: A Visual Companion Book,” “Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland Soundtrack CD,” and “Alice in Wonderland for Nintendo Wii.”

Disney Movie Rewards members can save $10 when buying the “Alice in Wonderland” 3-Disc Blu-ray package.
