Rianne Hill Soriano Filmmaker Project Portfolio In the Philippines, she is a national/presidential awardee of the Ani ng Dangal (Harvest of Honor) Award for Cinema by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). She received the Kodak Film Award for her thesis film at the University of the Philippines Film Institute (UPFI). She was also a recipient of the Kodak Emerging Filmmaker’s Grant. She received a Gawad Urian nomination for the Best Short Film Award. In the United States, she is a First Friday Las Vegas artist and a Yahoo! Movies Featured Critic Award finalist. She also won the Las Vegas Filmmaker of the Year at the indie arts awards RAWards. She was the city’s official representative for the national finals featuring other award-winning filmmakers from other key U.S. cities. She is part of the YoPro (Young Professionals) Program of the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show, which is annually held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. In South Korea, she is a filmmaker fellow of the Asian Film Academy (AFA) under the umbrella of the prestigious Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) and a director/writer fellow and trainee of the Asian Film Professionals Training Program of the Korean Film Council (KOFIC). She served as co-author of KOFIC’s Asian Film Industry Book published in 2010. As a journalist and blogger since 2005, she has written for clients including The Los Angeles Times, eBay, Yahoo! Movies, Yahoo! Travel, Yahoo! Voices, Yahoo! Shine, Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Sports, Yahoo! Finance, The Allstate Blog, Brighthub, Helium, U.S. Auto Parts, Partstrain.com, Livestrong, BusinessWorld, Herword.com, Yehey.com, among many others. As a scriptwriter and film consultant since 2006, she has worked with clients including the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT), Department of Education (DepEd), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). As a director since 2002, her films have toured and competed in international film festivals including the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, Louis Vuitton Hawaii International Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market, UNESCO’s Audio-Visual E-Platform, International Women’s Film Festival, Cinemanila International Film Festival, and Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. She is also a Getty Images artist (filmmaker and photographer). She directed videos for clients including Hallmark, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Department of Labor and Employment, Camella, Vistaland, Limketkai, Avida, Caritas, Galing Pilipino Movement, and Smart Communications. |
