Friday, Oct. 7, 2011

The District at Green Valley Ranch invites locals and tourists to the free open-air screening of the animated film “Rango.” The movie starts at 7:00 p.m. at The Green. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and picnic baskets for the showing. The District is located at 2240 Village Walk Dr. Henderson, NV 89052.

The Sci-Fi Center presents its Black October Art and Film Invasion program with films and Q&As for three days of interactive sci-fi horror filled with actors, filmmakers, special effects expos, horror art exhibits, and many other related events. Its first day features the debut of the film “Area 51 Confidential” at 7:00 p.m., the Las Vegas Premiere of “Song of the Shattered ” at 9:30 p.m., the film “CathARTic ” at 11:00 p.m., and “Strip Club Slasher” at 11:30 p.m.

Tickets are available for $5 for a single event, $10 for an All-Day Pass, and $25 for a 3-Day Pass. The Sci-Fi Center is located at 900 Karen Ave. Suite D-202 Las Vegas, NV 89109.

The District at Green Valley Ranch showcases the 2003 adventure comedy flick “The Haunted Mansion” starting at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free.

The Clark County Library screens the 2011 epic adventure film “Thor” for its Saturday Movie Matinee program. This event is scheduled from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the library’s Jewel Box Theater. The Clark County Library invites families and friends to the screening of the 1931 horror film “Frankenstein.” This movie event happens from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the library’s Main Theater.

Theatre7 hosts the program “The Will Edwards Show: PollyGrind Edition” with a 7:00 p.m. live show and a 10:00 p.m. screening of the feature “The Las Vegas Abductions.” Those only attending the screening require purchase of $7 admission tickets, while those attending both the live show and screening require purchase of $10 admission tickets.

Theatre7 features a number of movies for the PollyGrind Film Festival’s “Zombiepalooza” program.
