It is a privilege for us to have two generations of filmmakers in our forum, which we believe can promote a very interesting discussion filled with diverse filmmaking stories, insights, and convictions — as filmmakers continue to adjust to the ever-evolving technology in the world of filmmaking for all these years.
We are hoping to touch into the evolving trends in cinema today, how online streaming and other related technology affect filmmaking in this era, and how filmmakers of different generations adjust to the changing times.
We believe that the screenings of the films “Anino” and “Birdshot,” especially during this year that we are celebrating the centennial of Philippine Cinema, will be of great importance and a milestone for our fast-changing times in film production and distribution. We are hoping that our film industry can, in one way or another, benefit from a meaningful and productive discussion of the topic during the forum.
